Has anyone noticed our new studio sign? I hope you have....and I hope you like it as much as I do........because I'm in LOVE with it. It's only taken me 5 years to decide what I wanted, but it was worth the wait.
I always thought I wanted an awning for the front of the build with my logo on it. But never moved forward with that idea. After hearing the high school had purchased a plasma cutter and I couldn't think of a neater way to get the high school students involved than to help make an industrial type sign for my building. If you haven't stop by and checked out the studio yet it is a very "industrial chic" inspired space.
So I reached out to the Ag department at the high school and worked with Mr. Foreman regarding the style and design of the sign I was wanting. Due to COVID the students weren't involved as much as I had hoped.
Once the letters were cut out I needed to find a way for them to be hung on the building. I wanted them to stand off the build, kinda 3 dimensional. I wanted them to make a statement. So after telling my wonderful husband my ideas......he made it a reality with a lot of help from our very own welder Clayton. Chris is a great welder himself but this material (aluminum) is Clayton's specialty. So with the help of my guys they were able to weld the letters to post and then to a brace so that the letters could be mounted to the build. Chris even painted the letters and mount pieces to give the illusion the the letters are floating.
I couldn't be happier with the end result and love that when I have a vision my family steps in to help make it a reality!!! I also have to get a shout out to Corey Weir for hanging the sign piece on the building, he's a great neighbor and friend. He was a huge part of helping with the inside of my studio and making it a reality. I enjoy working with him even if he doesn't love my old building like I do....LOL.
Here are some pictures of the process, from the letters being cut out, welded and painted. This makes me HAPPY!!!!
